New Future Fund chairman Greg Combet ducks for cover on Elbit war crimes investment

by Michael West | Aug 2, 2024 | What's the scam?

Australia’s sovereign wealth fund continues to hide from questions over its investment in Israel’s bomb making company Elbit Systems. What’s the scam?

The scam is we put questions to the Future Fund again about the fund’s stake in Elbit, requesting whether the change of guard at the fund had led to a change investments. Greg Combet ignored it.

Combet was the Labor Government’s appointment to success Coalition figure Peter Costello as chairman of the fund.

Besides the sovereign wealth fund investing in Elbit when Israel is on trial for genocide at the International Court of Justice, Elbit has also been awarded a $900m government defence contract.

Further, a recent investigation by MWM found the weapons company – whose drones killed Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom in Gaza – has been washing taxpayers’ money into Israel via cheap loans and large dividend payments made by its Australian subsidiary.
