Albo was blasted by the media for not knowing financial stats while Scomo’s claim “we” saved 40,000 lives in the pandemic was greeted with silent acquiescence.
Welcome to the double standard election where the media puts Labor to the test and leaves the government to make stuff up. Is bullartistry worse than not knowing finance metrics? Both are worthy of media scrutiny, surely. But true to form, our fourth estate has shone the light on Labor and left PM Scott Morrison to make any sort of cavalier boast he can muster.
Did anybody bother to fact check this preposterous claim? We did. The Prime Minister’s office, brimming with media people, said “We’ll get back to you” and never did. What was the methodology here? Where is the modelling?
