The race for the Lodge has narrowed as the Liberal Party lobbyist who does the SMH and The Age’s polling found Albo trailing Scomo 30% to 38%.
Funny that. It’s worth noting that Nine’s Resolve pollsters are run by Liberal Party lobbyist Jim Reid who picked up more than half a million in grants from the Morrison government. And convenient too. If you believe the polls, we now have a close race, a hung parliament perhaps. That sells newspapers. (LNP 35, ALP 34, Green 11, ON 4, UAP 4, IND 9, other 4).
Good news is, and it might be an aberration, but after months of sycophantic Coalition coverage, and a first campaign week relentlessly skewering Albo for his blunder and wondering why he was doing badly in the press, the Nine mastheads have actually held Morrison to account today.
A good deal better too than the AFR’s “Exclusive Poll” last week which turned out to be a focus group involving two intimate meetings of five “undecided voters” who found … well, you know what.
