Coalition re-announces 2019 regional airport election promise

For two elections running, National Party MPs Anne Webster and former deputy prime minister Michael McCormack have announced $2.6 million in funding for the Cahuna Airport, Victoria.

If something’s worth saying once, it’s worth saying twice.

Webster, who represents the seat of Mallee, was there with her former boss and Andrew Gibbs, the Cohuna Aviation Club’s president.

Gibbs is a former Howard government policy adviser who also runs a political consultancy called Primary Policy Partners (PPP).

It was a repeat performance from all three, who were there three years ago to announce the same funding. Four days before the federal election on May 18, 2019, McCormack announced a $2.57 million upgrade of the Cohuna airport.
