Mandarin salaries. Another win for transparency as Tribunal publishes submissions

by | Jun 24, 2026 | What's the scam?

After much pressure from the public and the Senate, the Remuneration Tribunal initiated a review of senior bureaucrats’ salaries. They have now gone one step further.

Transparency warrior Rex Patrick submitted his MWM article to the review and asked that it – and other submissions – be made public, contrary to the Tribunal’s original guidelines.

The Tribunal has now relented, telling MWM, “The Tribunal has decided to publish submissions where consent has been provided to do so.”

Some of those submitting – and we can only speculate on who they might be – may, of course, still refuse publication of their submission.

Submissions were due on June 10, and the Tribunal has committed to completing the review by the end of the year, while leaving executive salaries unchanged until then.
