The Board of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) has failed again at an Extraordinary General Meeting to remove dissident director Dr Sharmila Chandran.
The vote in favour of Dr Chandran rose from 65% at the last EGM to 74% today, from 7,444 votes cast, putting the chair Professor Jennifer Martin and her allies in a virtually untenable position.
There have been two EGMs and a board meeting vote of no confidence; all three votes won by Chandran who is a whistleblower fighting a court action against them.
Coupled with the boardroom chaos are further detailed allegations of governance irregularities by another whistleblower published here yesterday.
