The company that owns Supercheap Auto and Rebel Sports has moved quickly to name a new chief executive after its last one was sacked over an undisclosed relationship with a former employee.
Super Retail Group announced on Tuesday that Paul Bradshaw, the managing director of its BCF (Boating, Camping, Fishing) chain, will assume the role of CEO and managing director from November 1.
Mr Bradshaw has more than 30 years of retail experience across Australia and the UK, including a decade in a senior role at Coles.

Super Retail Group said that since joining the company in 2019, he had led the transformation of BCF into a clear category leader.
“Paul has an exceptional understanding of retail, leads with a clear focus on the customer, and is highly regarded by his team and peers,” Super Retail Group chairwoman Judith Swales said.
BCF’s current general manager of retail operations, Michael Wassman, has been promoted into Mr Bradshaw’s old role.
Mr Bradshaw will be paid a base salary of $1.2 million, and could make up to another $2.8 million in short and long-term bonuses.
He replaces Anthony Heraghty, who was fired in September after serving a decade as Super Retail Group’s managing director.
The board said at the time it had terminated Mr Heraghty’s employment “with immediate effect” over his relationship with the company’s former chief human resource officer.
It said Mr Heraghty had provided new information about the matter and now considered his prior disclosures unsatisfactory.
