Chaos at Herzog Protest as Police use excessive force | The West Report

by | Feb 10, 2026 | The West Report

Thousands of Sydneysiders gathered peacefully at Town Hall to protest the visit of Isaac Herzog. What followed was a heavy police operation, with protesters pepper sprayed, pushed to the ground and arrested, including elderly people and families.

In this West Report, we speak to Zack Scho, who was on the ground as events unfolded, walking through the timeline of how police kettled the crowd and forced protesters down George Street.

With questions now mounting over whether the response was planned, attention turns to NSW Premier Chris Minns who ultimately bears responsibility.

This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it.
