Senator Sarah Henderson has used a Senate hearing to label Michael West Media as antisemitic, claiming saying the outlet has published material containing antisemitic tropes. She provided no evidence for her claims. Department officials tell the hearing that the guidelines do not assess the opinions a publisher expresses, only whether its speech breaks Commonwealth or state law. Henderson presses the contrast with a Home Affairs grant of more than $300,000 that was discontinued over the conduct of its recipient.
